Toys to support children's development

- Categories : Children's goodies

Before 12 months

At this age, babies spend a lot of their waking hours lying on the floor. They therefore need toys that encourage movement and motor skills, such as balls, wheeled toys, tumblers and foam blocks. Visible volume toys adapted to their first movements!

Babies move at ground level, so any toy or accessory put in their path will arouse their curiosity and encourage them to move forward, backward, change direction, turn around..

What's more, they help babies develop coordination between their sense of sight, physical movement and sense of touch. Babies learn to be active and responsive, which is very important for their personal development and personality.

Between 12 and 24 months

This is a major period in the development of a child's motor skills. They learn to stand, walk, talk and eat on their own..

Children discover their own bodies, the space and environment in which they live, and their own abilities. This is when they learn to trust themselves! That's why it's so important to support the child during this period with useful educational toys.

During this period, children will appreciate toys that enable them to pull, push, roll or stack. These motor skills aids help the child to progress, such as standing, by strengthening the child's muscles. This helps them to feel their body's axis and coordinate their upper and lower body. Children test their balance on these toys and gradually gain confidence in themselves and their movements.

Volume toys enable children to discover shapes, animals and colors. By assembling them, they can work on movement, logic and memory.

Between 24 and 36 months and over

Between the ages of 2 and 3, the child will discover new capacities, notably linked to the development of the nervous system and the growth of the muscular system. The child will appreciate "destruction for reconstruction", as well as all moving supports. Climbing structures become real playgrounds, and the first tricycles appear.

The child learns to coordinate vision and action, assess distances, maintain balance in motion, and develop anticipation and memory. Volume toys to be assembled will become their best friends in their personal development.

This is also the age when children are looking to play with other people, and a toy that facilitates this socialization is important during this period.

From age 6

The child's motor skills are well developed, but they need to be maintained through play and pedagogy. The child becomes more sociable, goes to school, learns to read and write... he's full of resources!

They're beginning to solve problems, and can therefore take part in more complex games with elaborate rules. Volume toys can therefore enable him to continue working on his sense of sight and touch, as well as his motor skills!

They can also help develop a child's creativity, which is essential for building personality and happiness.
